In 2022, Prime Video had to deal with a few setbacks such as The Terminal List and above all The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Certainly, the new series based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien got off to a very good start. However, as the episodes progressed, the show's audience began to dwindle as viewers began to question its scriptwriting choices.
Fortunately for Amazon's streaming service, the past year has also been a very busy one. marked by the release of season 3 of The Boys. And as usual, the flagship series from Prime Video managed to get everyone on the same page. Even avid readers of Comics enjoyed the new salvo of episodes. This reinforced Amazon's belief that Eric Kripke's series must be renewed at all costs. As a result the fourth season of The Boys was announced just a few days after the broadcast of the third 3.
If, like us, you can't wait to see Butcher's gang take on The Protector (Homelander) and his Seven, the next few lines are for you. You'll find all the information on season 4 of The Boys.

At this stage, we can legitimately expect the new season to be available this year. This implies a probable release date of late 2023 at best. It should be remembered that The Boys is still a special effects-filled series. This requires a great deal of post-production work and, above all, a great deal of time.
With this parameter, however, it has to be said that season 4 is scheduled for release in 2024. Based on the broadcast dates of previous seasons, we can even expect to discover new episodes in summer 2024. In terms of number of episodes and broadcaster, the new season should offer no surprises.
A total of eight episodes all of which will be broadcast exclusively on Prime Video.
Let's start this roundup of the cast for the new season with those who, unsurprisingly, will be returning. We can already say that Karl Urban and Jack Quaid will take on the roles of Butcher and Hughie respectively in upcoming episodes. Their battle against the Protector isn't over yet.
Which is just as well, sinceAntony Starr will also be present in the role of the Protector. In the wake of this superhero with no moral compass, we'll have a horde of series historians. These include Laz Alonso (La Crème), from Tomer Capon (Le Français), from Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko), fromErin Moriarty (Stella) and Claudia Doumit (Victoria Neuman).
Doubts remain, however, as to the presence of Dominique McElligott and Jensen Ackles who play Maeve and Little Soldier respectively. At the end of season 3, Maeve decided to leave Vought for good, in order to live in peace, far from the Vought Compagny. So we don't expect to see her back in the series. The same goes for Little Soldier, who, although still alive, seems to have completed his mission. Until further notice, he has been sidelined..
To finish with the main actors who will be returning, it's worth mentioning the announced return of Black Noir. Officially dead, his costume could be taken over by the actor Nathan Mitchell. This would de facto bring the character back into the series.
After the main actors, let's now talk about those who have so far had a secondary role in the series. At this level, it's highly likely that Jessie T. Usher (A-Train), Chace Crawford (the fish man) and Colby Minifie (Ashley) are back in the cast. The same goes for Cameron Crovetti who plays Ryan, the bastard son the Protector had with Butcher's wife. However, unlike previous seasons, Ryan should play a leading role.
Now it's time to talk about newcomers to the series. The actresses Valorie Curry and Susan Heyward will make their debut in Prime Video's flagship series as Sister Sage and Firecracker respectively. These two characters don't exist in the comics, but are just as formidable, according to Eric Kripke.
They will be accompanied in their baptism of fire by the actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan who is best known for his role as Negan in The Walking Dead. In the new season of The BoysHe'll be evolving as Tek Knight, a superhero halfway between Batman and Iron Man.
The likely to cast season 4 of The Boys is therefore as follows:
For the new season, The Protector seems more untouchable than ever. Having failed to defeat him on several occasions, the Boys seem to have reached the end of their tether. Especially since their boss, Butcher, is dying. Season 4 looks set to be the season in which they will throw all their might into the battle to put the leader of the Seven out of action for good.
But before we can achieve this almost impossible mission, we'll need to the Boys manage to bring Ryan to his sensesthe son of Butcher's wife Becca, who was raped by The Protector. Gifted with the same powers as his rapist father, Ryan has finally chosen the path of evil like the latter (dogs don't make cats). It's bad enough that The Protector gives our heroes (who, unlike the others, aren't corrupt) too much trouble, but if his avatar has to get involved, the Boys can go to hell. And Butcher doesn't have much choice, sincehe promised his late wife to look after Ryan.
On the other hand, it has to be said that the plot of the new season should also focus on the formation of a new American government. With Senator Neuman in pole position for the post of Vice-President, Vought Compagny and Le Protecteur will be even more powerful. An even more frightening power, with public opinion not even not ready to condemn the murder of civilians by The Protector. The latter can now give free rein to his most morbid impulses.
And to help him in his bloody tasks, he could count on two new recruits: Sister Sage and Firecracker. According to Eric Kripke, the two superheroines are "horrifying, hilarious and very dangerous". With that description, it would be hard not to see them sinking alongside the Protector. Unless Tek Knight manages to tip the scales in the Boys' favor...
One thing's for sure, there'll be plenty of bloodshed in season 4.
This is not yet available.
For now, Prime Video doesn't seem to want to put an end to the series. At this stage, anything can happen.. At the end of season 4, the Boys can finally defeat the Protector. This would certainly mark the official end of the series. But we're not there yet.
The series' immediate news concerns the spin-off entitled Gen V. Scheduled for release in 2023, this is the second spin-off series from The Boys after Diabolical. According to officials, Gen V to introduce season 4. Its plot revolves around a superhero school where boarders endowed with extraordinary powers undergo various selection tests.
The best will go on to the so-called Vought Generation made up of superheroes called upon to take over from the Seven. Apart from the new faces who make up the cast of the new series, some of the history of the parent series. These include Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie and Paul Jeffrey Birne.
